Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Several joint ventures have been created in cooperation with Uzbekneftegaz to search for and develop gas fields. Natural Gas-Stream is also engaged in geological exploration and well development in the Ustyurt region.
Natural Gas-Stream is implementing the investment project “Geological exploration at the Sechankul, Akdzhar and Chimbay” investment blocks. The total cost of this project is US$701.4 million.
According to the Department for the Implementation of Investment Projects of Uzbekneftegaz, to date, within the framework of the project, drilling work has been completed on 27 wells and field seismic surveys have been carried out with 3D CDPM on an area of 600 sq. km.
In particular, 15 wells have been completed in the Akchalak group of fields. 78.9 km of gas pipelines and loops have been built. At this time, work continues on the modernization of 5.5 km of water conduit, 40.5 km of power lines. Currently, work is underway to drill a sidetrack at well No. 1 and overhaul.
In the Chandir group, 137.7 km of gas pipelines and loops have been built. 81.6 km of power lines were laid, and 119.8 km of cable were laid, and 133.3 km of roads were built to provide the field with communications and the Internet. A rotational camp for 50 people was built to accommodate the personnel working at the field. A sidetrack is being drilled in one well at the Devalcock field.
As part of the project, a gas metering unit (GCU) was built at the Urga field to supply gas to the Bukhara-Ural gas pipeline and a rotational camp for 23 people. In addition to equipping 3 wells, 3.1 km of loops were built. Currently, sidetracking is being carried out in the 1st well, workover in 2 wells, and testing with hydraulic fracturing in the 1st well.
To date, work on sidetracking and well development has been completed in well No. 3 of the Akchalak field in the Republic of Karakalpakstan. A directional sidetrack was drilled in the depth interval of 2198-2947 meters. At a depth of 2817-2890 meters, a filter was installed in the sidetrack; during the development of the well, an industrial flow of gas with condensate was obtained. Work is underway to connect the well to the gas-collecting manifold.
Until the end of 2021, the expected annual production of natural gas will amount to 1.2 billion cubic meters of gas condensate and 32.2 thousand tons of gas condensate.
