Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On the first day of the new year, UK’s The Independent published an article “The best destinations to visit in 2022”.

Based on the recommendations of travel writers, The Independent chose the 10 most popular places to visit in the coming year. This list includes the Channel Islands, Northern Ireland, Canada, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Egypt, Bhutan and Uzbekistan.

According to the Independent’s travel editor, Helen Coffey, this intriguing country has been on her bucket list for so long she may well have included it as an entry in their “where I’d like to go in 2018” round-up.

It is noted that Uzbekistan relaxed its entry policy a few years ago – British passport holders can stay for up to 30 days, visa-free.

When planning a trip to Uzbekistan, the author advises the readers to include in their schedule international festivals and other major cultural events that will be held this year and will certainly arouse great interest among tourists.
