Khokim and prosecutor of Chilanzar district fired over the incident with trees

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev dismissed the khokim of Chilanzar district of Tashkent city Shavkat Mavlonov and the district prosecutor Izzat Bozorov for the incident with trees. This was stated by the press service of the head of Uzbekistan.

The statement says that today at a conference call chaired by the head of the Presidential Administration Sardor Umurzakov, a case of damage to trees that occurred recently in Tashkent and caused strong discontent among the population was sharply criticized.

“On behalf of the President, the khokim of Chilanzar district of Tashkent city Shavkat Mavlonov and the prosecutor of the district Izzat Bozorov were dismissed,” the statement says.

Also, for an irresponsible attitude to duties, a severe reprimand was issued to the mayor of the capital, Jahangir Artykhodjaev, and the prosecutor of the city, Ulugbek Kosimov.

During the expansion of the road and the improvement of the street in Chilanzar district of Tashkent, 101 perennial trees were damaged. Of these, 9 oak trees were seriously damaged.
