KFAED issues US$15.2m for irrigation projects in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) issued a KWD 4.34 million (US$15.2 million) loan to Uzbekistan, Al Watan daily reported on 21 October 2009.
The loan will be spent on irrigation and water supply projects in Jizzakh and Syrdarya.
KFAED has so far extended loans worth a total KWD 26 million to Uzbekistan, in addition to technical assistance of KWD 578,000.
KFAED, commonly known as the Kuwait Fund, was founded in 1961 and is the State of Kuwait’s agency for the provision and administration of financial and technical assistance to developing countries.
