Uzbek Foreign Minister holds talks with a British delegation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 1 December 2022, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov, who is in Lodz in connection with participation in a regular meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council, met with the British Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Commonwealth Affairs and Development James Cleverly.
During the conversation, a wide range of issues was discussed, both on the bilateral agenda and interaction between our countries within the framework of international structures.
An exchange of views took place on the issues of intensifying the bilateral inter-parliamentary dialogue, organizing mutual visits of representatives of the legislative bodies of the two countries and exchanging experience in various fields.
The importance of further strengthening trade, economic and investment cooperation was noted, the need to intensify the dialogue between the business circles of the two countries within the framework of the Uzbek-British Council of Commerce and Industry, the 26th meeting of which was held yesterday in Tashkent, was pointed out.
As stated, there are opportunities for deepening cultural and scientific ties due to the significant historical heritage of both countries. The parties spoke in favor of expanding ties between scientific and educational institutions, museums and libraries, and implementing joint projects in this direction.
The parties agreed to continue regular contacts at various levels in order to identify new areas of cooperation. Vladimir Norov invited his British colleague to pay a visit to Uzbekistan.
The sides also considered certain issues of the regional and international agenda.
