Uzbekistan and Singapore discuss cooperation in the field of support for start-ups20/01/2023 13:18

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation from IT Park Uzbekistan visited the office of Enterprise SG, a government organization under the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Government of Singapore, which since 2018 has been responsible for supporting the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, creating opportunities and promoting innovation.

The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the activities of the organization and establish partnerships between companies. During the meeting, representatives of IT Park told their foreign colleagues about the measures taken by the government to transform the country as a regional IT hub.

In turn, representatives of Enterprise SG spoke about their key tasks and vision. Thus, the management of Enterprise SG expressed interest in hiring Uzbek IT specialists in local startups.

IT Park assured that Uzbekistan could become a country for Singapore with special business conditions for foreign companies and special benefits, as well as support startups from Singapore in entering the Central Asian market. For Uzbekistan, the opening of branches will also have a number of advantages, including an increase in the number of jobs and the exchange of experience with foreign colleagues.

The discussion also included other areas of mutual interest related to the development of IT and the startup ecosystem, including the participation of startups in events organized by Startup SG, a division of Enterprise SG dedicated to developing Singapore’s startup ecosystem.

Following the meeting, Enterprise SG was invited to Uzbekistan in March 2023 to get acquainted with the country’s IT industry, explore opportunities for IT companies and discuss the launch of some projects.
