Iran, Uzbekistan call for expansion of mutual ties

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Iran’s First Vice-President Mohammad-Reza Rahimi on Monday called for expansion of Iran-Uzbekistan ties, IRNA reported.
Rahimi made the remark in a meeting with Uzbekistan Vice-Prime Minister Elyar Ganiev, adding Iran mulls boosting of his connection with Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) through Uzbekistan’s cooperation.
Voicing Iran’s willingness to increase its ties with the brotherly, friendly and neighboring country, Uzbekistan, Rahimi said there is no hindrance on the way of bolstering bilateral ties.
The Iranian first vice-president also called for opening of new chapter in Tehran- Tashkent cooperation.
Referring to the two sides’ age-old historical, cultural and religious ties, Ganiev, for his part, called for bolstering of bilateral ties in all arenas.
