Russian leader ratifies SCO agreement on mutual help at emergency situations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Russia Dmitriy Medvedev signed a law “On ratification of agreement between the governments of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member-states on interaction at mutual assistance at liquidation of emergency situations”.

This agreement was passed by Russia’s State Duma on 26 February and approved by the Federation Council on 3 March.

In line with the document, the SCO countries will help each other to liquidate emergency situations. The countries will also simplify transit of rescuers and equipment their territories.

The SCO unites Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. India, Iran, Mongolia and Pakistan are observers.
