Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan Havo Yollari (Uzbekistan Airways) received the second cargo airplane Boeing-767-300BCF, which was converted from passenger plane to the freighter.
The second airplane arrived in international airport Tashkent. The first airplane received the first cargo plane in November 2014.
The airline said that two airplanes were converted to freighters within the project on re-equipping to passenger airplanes Boeing 767-300ER to freighters Boeing 767-300BCF in line with the agreement between Uzbekistan Havo Yollari and Boeing.
The project is implemented at support and financial help of the Government of Uzbekistan. It is aimed at creating a fleet of freight airplanes to develop an international intermodal center of logistics at Navoi airport and increase cargo transportation.
The airplane was converted to freighter by Boring at its airplane repair company in Singapore, Sasko. The plane was received by the Uzbek airline after necessary inspections.
Uzbekistan Havo Yollari said that it is more profitable to use old passenger planes as freighters. This will ensure safety of flights.
It is expected that the freighters will be used to conduct international flights from Navoi Airport to Dubai, Tianjin, Frankfurt, Aktobe, New Delhi, on average - 13 flights per week. The commercial load of the aircrafts makes up 53 tonnes. They are certified according to the fourth level of noise (Stage 4 noise level), which will perform takeoffs and landings at airports that have restrictions for flying at night, in particular, the city of London and Frankfurt.
It is worth to mention that the first converted airplane Boeing-767-300BCF will conduct first flight from Urumqi to Tashkent.
