Kashkadarya region, Tashkent city and ferghana region were leading in Uzbekistan on number of registered legal entities on the result of 2009.

Andijan and Kashkadarya regions recorded the highest growth of industrial output in Uzbekistan in 2009, the Uzbek State Statistics Committee said.

Retail trade turnover grew in all regions of Uzbekistan in 2009. In the reporting period, Bukhara led on the growth of retail trade turnover with 22.8%.

The highest growth of gross regional product (GRP) in 2009 was registered in Tashkent city, according to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

About 658,200 persons applied to labor agencies for employment in January-December 2009, or 5.6% more year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare of Uzbekistan.

Nominal money income of population of Uzbekistan increased by 36.5% year-on-year in January-November 2009 and expenses and savings rose by 34.7%, the Uzbek State Statistics Committee said.

The volume of paid services rendered to population of Uzbekistan in 2009, made up 6.298 trillion soums, or grew by 12.9% year-on-year.

Retail trade turnover of Uzbekistan made up 16.488 trillion soums in 2009 and grew by 16.6% compared to 2008, the state statistics body said in a report.

Passenger transportation in Uzbekistan grew by 8.2% year-on-year in January-December 2009 to 5.697 billion people. Passenger turnover made up 71 billion passengers-km or rose by 9.6% year-on-year.

All types of transports in Uzbekistan transported 1.095 trillion tonnes of cargoes in January-December 2009, which is up 13.4% year-on-year. At the same time, cargo turnover fell by 6.9% to 78.1 billion tonnes-km.
