Kazakh leader expresses condolences to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev has sent a telegram of condolence to the chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Nigmatulla Yoldoshev over the death of President Islam Karimov.
In his message, Kazakh leader said that he has received the news of the death of Uzbek President Islam Karimov with deep sorrow.
“Kazakhstan’s people share the pain of untimely and grievous loss the fraternal people of Uzbekistan are going through. I am grieving over the loss of my friend with whom I had worked side by side for almost 30 years,” the message reads.
Nazarbaev stressed that large-scale changes that promoted the development of Uzbekistan’s economic potential, the growth of its international authority and the improvement of society’s well-being were connected with Karimov’s name.
“He devoted all his life to selfless service to his nation. He had always been a reliable friend to Kazakhstan and made large contribution to the strengthening of friendship and good neighbourly relations between our nations. The bright memory of Islam Karimov will remain in our hearts forever," the telegram said.
Kazakh President expressed his deep condolence to Islam Karimov’s relatives and close friends, as well as to the country’s leadership and to the entire fraternal people of Uzbekistan.
