Shavkat Mirziyayev outlines priority tasks of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Acting President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyayev outlined priorities of Uzbekistan at the joint session of the Legislative Chamber and Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan.
Shavkat Mirziyayev said that Uzbekistan should ensure further strengthening of macroeconomic stability and keep high pace of economic growth.
He said that Uzbekistan should realize complex of additional measures to ensure sustainability of national currency, further strengthen banking system and balanced budget at republican and regional level. He noted that Uzbekistan will continue policy of conservative and rational approach to external loans and avoid excessive debt load.
Mirziyayev said that it is important to realize approved programmes on deepening processing of rare and non-ferrous metals, developing food and chemical industry.
Uzbek official said the country should expand production of competitive products and improve export potential both industries of real economy and regions of Uzbekistan. He said that it is necessary to further stimulate export of small and private businesses, as well as farms. This should be key locomotive of economic growth, development of industries and regions.
Mirziyayev noted that it is necessary to ensure reliable protection of interests of private and small businesses, as well as eliminate red tape and unfounded inspections.
It is important social-economic task is to execute the programme of population employment, he said. Uzbekistan will continue to create modern integrated road-transport and engineering infrastructure, as well as development of national information-communication system.
Shavkat Mirziyayev said that it is necessary widely introduce advanced information-communication technologies, including develop E-Government.
According to him, the country will realize decisions of the President on improvement of Tashkent, Qarshi, Shakhrisabz, Termez, Namangan and Urgench.
He said that Uzbekistan should develop and reform agriculture sector and ensure financial stability of farms. He added that this will serve national food security.
Mirziyayev noted that the country should reform and develop education, science, healthcare, culture and art, sport, etc.
