Uzbek Labour Minister holds talks with KOICA delegation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minister of Labour of Uzbekistan Aziz Abduhakimov held a meeting with the delegation of the President of the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Kim In Shik on 5 October 2016.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea Kwon Yongwoo and director of Hyundai Engineering Co. Ltd. in Uzbekistan Song Dong-jun also attended the event, the Uzbek Labour Ministry said.
Aziz Abduhakimov expressed gratitude to the Korean partners for mutual beneficial and practical cooperation. He noted that joint projects with South Korean are giving their results as new highly-paid jobs are created for the citizens of Uzbekistan.
It was noted that creation of jobs for population, especially for youth and women, is always in attention of the Government of Uzbekistan.
Uzbek Labour Ministry and KOICA are implementing successfully the project “Development of opportunities for professional education in Uzbekistan”. Within the project, vocational training centers are established in various regions of Uzbekistan.
The first center was created in Tashkent in 2012, which was financed due to the grant of the South Korean Government. Over 2,000 young people underwent education here and they were successfully find jobs.
New center was constructed in Samarkand city. In the end of September, it received the first 240 students. The center equipped with modern equipment and manuals.
Kim In Shik highly rated social-economic development in Uzbekistan. He said that KOICA will continue close cooperation with the Labour Ministry in 2017-2019. Currently, the sides are working on creation of vocational training centers in Shakhrisabz. Similar centers will be created in Urgench and Qoqand.
Director of Hyundai Engineering Co. Ltd. in Uzbekistan Song Dong-jun highly rated cooperation of two states and wide-scale reforms in economy of Uzbekistan.
At the end of the meeting, the Ministry of Labour of Uzbekistan, Hyundai Engineering Co. Ltd. and KOICA signed a memorandum of understanding, envisaging cooperation in organization of internships at enterprises of Hyundai Engineering of students of the vocational training centers.
The sides will also develop joint educational programmes and exchange experience and information, etc.
