Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- UN Development Programme (UNDP) and National Human Rights Center of Uzbekistan signed a memorandum of understanding.
Within the memorandum, the sides will exchange legislative acts, information-analytical materials, publications and information on activities in the field of encouraging and protecting human rights and freedoms.
UNDP and National Human Rights Center will hold joint consultations and provide assistance in the sphere of developing and implementing programmes and plans, directed at protecting and encouraging human rights and freedoms.
They will jointly publish methodical and other special literature on human rights and disseminate them among population.
The parties will hold national and international conference, seminars and roundtables, as well as trainings. Representatives of Uzbekistan will also take part in educational programmes of the UN agencies in human rights.
The memorandum was signed within the international conference “National system of ensuring reliable protection of human rights and freedoms in Uzbekistan: achievements during independence years”, which takes place in Tashkent on 20-21 October.
Representatives of the UN, OIC, OSCE, EU, Great Britain, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Russia and Tajikistan are participating in the event.
