Uzbekistan increases production of agriculture goods

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan increased production of agriculture products by 6.4% in January-September 2016 compared to the same period of 2015.
Uzbekistan adopted measures to cut area of cotton fields by 30,500 hectares and planted fruit trees and vegetables. New 8,200 hectares of new intensive gardens and 5,200 hectares of grape were created. Over 6,000 hectares of gardens and 3,500 hectares of vine-yards were created. About 9,900 modern greenhouses at 532 hectares were created.
Farms and enterprises created 164 new cold storages to store of fruits and vegetables with the capacity of 64,600 tonnes.
Uzbek farmers produced 2.3 million tonnes of potatoes, 8.2 million tonnes of vegetables, 1.5 million tonnes of melons, over 1.2 million tonnes of grapes and 2 million tonnes of fruits and berries.
Over 5,200 projects on increasing number of cattle, poultry, fishery and bee-keeping for 380 billion soums were realized in Uzbekistan.
As of 1 October 2016, number of cattle reached about 11.6 million heads (+3.4% year-on-year). About 1.6 million tonnes of meat (+6.6%), 6.9 million tonnes of milk (+6.9%), over 4.5 billion eggs (10.8%) and other goods were produced in nine months of 2016.
