ILO representatives hold meeting in Uzbek capital

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan Trade Unions Federation hosted a meeting with the delegation of the International Labour Organization (ILO).
Special advisor of ILO Secretary-General Kari Tapiola, Deputy Director of ILO Bureau for Eastern Europe and Central Asia Shurenchimeg Zokhiolt and Senior Specialist in Employers’ Activities of ILO Bureau for Eastern Europe and Central Asia Vladimir Curovic represented the ILO delegation.
The sides discussed issues on current state of execution of the programme on decent work in Uzbekistan and perspectives of its further implementation.
Work on main directions of multilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and ILO within the concept of decent work was highly rated. The cooperation is based on memorandum of understanding and programme of decent work in Uzbekistan for 2014-2016.
The programme includes three components related to strengthening of social partnership in the sphere of labour, expanding decent employment, improving labour conditions and social protection.
During the meeting, the sides discussed recent reforms in legislation of Uzbekistan to harmonize it with international norms.
The sides also considered main task on formation of new country programme for decent work in Uzbekistan for 2017-2020.
