Number of permanent population of Uzbekistan makes up 32.12 million people

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Number of permanent population of Uzbekistan made up 32.121 million people as of 1 January 2017, or rose by 1.7% or 545,900 people compared to the beginning of 2016, the press service of the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
The number of urban population was 16.238 million people (50.6% of the total number of population) and rural population – 15.882 million people (49.4%).
According to the committee, number of births was 726,800 in 2016. The birth rate was 22.8 pro mil, which rose by 0.7 pro mil compared to 2015 (23.5 pro mil in 2015).
Significant decrease of birth rate was observed in Karakalpakstan (from 23.3 to 21.8 pro mil), Surkhandarya region (from 27 to 25.8 pro mil), Bukhara region (from 21.9 to 20.9 pro mil), Tashkent region (from 21.1 to 20.3 pro mil), Andijan region (from 24.1 to 23.4 pro mil), Kashkadarya region (from 26.2 to 25.5 pro mil) and Syrdarya region (from 22.8 to 22.1 pro mil).
Birth rate grew in Tashkent city (from 18 to 18.4 pro mil) and Navoi region (from 22 to 22.1 pro mil).
In the reporting period, the number of deaths was 154,400 and in comparison with January-September 2016. The death rate was 4.8 pro mil.
Death rate rose in Navoi region (from 4.5 to 4.7 pro mil), Surkhandarya region (4.1 to 4.3 pro mil), Syrdarya region (from 4.8 to 5 pro mil), Kashkadarya region (from 4 to 4.1 pro mil), Khorezm region (from 4.5 to 4.6 pro mil), and Karakalpakstan (from 4.6 to 4.7 pro mil).
Death rate fell in Andijan region (from 5.2 to 5.1 pro mil), Namangan region (from 4.7 to 4.6 pro mil), Tashkent region (from 5.9 to 5.8 pro mil), Ferghana region (from 5.0 to 4.9 pro mil) and Tashkent city (from 6.9 to 6.8 pro mil).
In the structure of total deaths cardiovascular diseases made up 59.6%, tumors – 9.4%, accidents, poisonings and traumas – 6.7%, diseases of digestive organs – 5.9%, respiratory diseases – 4.9%, infectious and parasitic diseases – 1.9% and from other diseases – 11.6%.
About 7,700 children died at the age under one year in 2016. The infant death rate was 10.5 pro mil. Out of the total number of children died at the age under one year 56.7% died of states occurring in perinatal period, 22.4% - respiratory diseases, 9.8% – congenital anomalies, and 3.1% - infectious and parasitic diseases, 1.9% - from accidents, poisonings and traumas, 0.6% - from diseases of digestive organs and 5.5% - other diseases.
About 257,100 marriages and 29,400 divorces were registered in 2016. There were 8.6 marriages and 0.9 divorces per 1000 population.
The marriage rate decreased in Kashkadarya region (from 10.4 to 9.3 pro mil), Namangan region (from 9.6 to 8.6 pro mil), Andijan region (from 9.8 to 8.9 pro mil), Khorezm region (from 9.4 to 8.5 pro mil), Surkhandarya region (from 9.8 to 9.1 pro mil) and Karakalpakstan (from 7.8 to 7.1 pro mil).
The divorce rate grew in Jizzakh region (from 0.6 to 0.7 pro mil), Syrdarya region (from 1.0 to 1.1 pro mil), Khorezm region (from 0.6 to 0.7 pro mil). The divorce rate fell in Bukhara region (from 1.0 to 9.0 pro mil), Navoiy region (from 1.2 to 1.1 pro mil), Tashkent region (from1.3 to 1.2 pro mil) and Tashkent city (from 2.1 to 1.8 pro mil).
According to the preliminary data in January-December 2016, the number of immigrants was 141,700 persons and that of emigrants – 168,300 persons. Balance of migration was minus 26,600 persons (-23,100 people in 2015).
