President of Uzbekistan receives World Bank Vice President

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 19 January 2017, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Vice President of the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia Cyril Muller.
According to the press service of the Uzbek President, Cyril Muller arrived in Uzbekistan with a working visit.
Uzbek leader warmly greeted the guest and underlined dynamic development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the World Bank.
It was noted that the portfolio of bilateral cooperation includes 33 joint projects dollars in the spheres of power industry, modernization of irrigation and utilities networks, water supply, development of manufacturing, transport and social infrastructure. The World Bank allocated US$2.8 billion to finance these projects.
In 2016, Uzbekistan and the World Bank signed a country partnership programme for 2016-2020, which includes 27 priority projects worth US$4 billion. The World Bank will issue loans for US$3 billion.
Cyril Muller highly rated measures, adopted in Uzbekistan, to ensure accelerated development of small businesses, creation of more favorable business and investment climate in the country.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged opinion on priorities of bilateral cooperation and discussed key areas of further enhancing partnership relations and implementation of prospective projects.
