Construction of tram line continues in Samarkand

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Construction of tram line in Samarkand is continuing, Uzbekiston Temir Yollari (Uzbekistan Railways) said in the statement.
The company said that it is planned to construct tam line in Samarkand city in line with the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan.
According to the general plan of the city development, it is planned construct four lines of tram line with the length of 34.8 km. It is planned to launch tam line by 21 March.
Uzbekiston Temir Yollari said that works on construction of tram line started in November 2016 and conducted by divisions and enterprises of the company.
The construction works are conducted in twp stage. In the first stage, it is planned to construct 11.km of tram line. The line, constructed within the first stage, will link railway station and Sattepo district and its length will make up 6.4 km. Further, the construction will continue from railway station to Siab market. Its length will make up 5 km.
The company will construct 23.4 km of tram line within the second stage. It is planned to construct tram line from railway station to Superfosfat Plant via Spitamen street with the length of 12.4 km. Another line will be built from railway station to Superfosfat Plant via Narpay street with the length of 11 km.
