Uzbekistan ADB sign loan agreements for US$573m

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) signed loan agreements for US$573 million, the President of the ADB Takehiko Nakao said at the press conference in Tashkent on 3 March 2017.
The President of the ADB Takehiko Nakao paid a three-day visit to Uzbekistan. During the visit he held talks with the officials of Uzbekistan.
Takehiko Nakao said the ADB will provide US$100 million to finance the Small Business Finance Project, which will help expand access to finance for rural and women-owned small businesses.
The bank will finance Tashkent Province Water Supply Development Project for US$121 million, which will improve the lives of over 3 million people.
The Horticulture Value Chain Development Project will provide US$154 million to upgrade and establish intensive orchards, modern and efficient greenhouses, and processing and storage facilities nationwide, he said.
The Kashkadarya Regional Road Project will revitalize and upgrade 77 km of regional roads through a $198 million loan, the ADB President said.
