Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan hold talks in Astana

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev held negotiations in face-to-face format in Astana.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev is currently paying a state visit to Kazakhstan.
During the negotiations in face-to-face format, the sides considered issues of strengthening of cooperation in key spheres of bilateral collaboration.
Nazarbaev said that Kazakhstan wishes prosperity and well-being to strategic partner, neighbor and brotherhood people of Uzbekistan.
Kazakh President said that Kazakhstan hopes for fruitful cooperation with Uzbekistan. He added that the sides made up concrete work on deepening inter-governmental partnership. Nazarbaev noted that trade turnover between two states rose sharply.
Nursultan Nazarbaev said that Astana today hosts a business forum, which is attended by over 500 business entities of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
He said that the companies of two states are planning to sign about 75 contracts for about US$1 billion. He noted that the countries are organizing such event for the first time. He expressed hope that Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan will continue to adhere to brotherhood relations.
Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed gratitude for warm welcome. He recalled that during his visit to Samarkand in 2016, Nazarbaev stated that Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan will always be together. He added that this makes two nations even closer.
Mirziyoyev underlined that the relations between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are at new level of development, including in international sphere.
He noted that Uzbekistan will support initiatives of Kazakhstan, which was elected as non-permanent member of the UN Security Council. He expressed hope that today’s mesting will serve as foundation for effective cooperation between two nations.
President of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan expressed hope that the visit will stimulate the Uzbek-Kazakh cooperation in wide range of directions.
