Abdulaziz Kamilov participates in SCO FMs summit

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov took part in the session of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Astana, Kazakhstan.

Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan participated in the session.

According to the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, they discussed current state and development of activities of the organization after the session of the Council of the heads of states on 23-24 June 2016 in Tashkent and the Council of the heads of the governments (Prime Minister) on 2-3 November 2016 in Bishkek.

SCO Foreign Ministers considered issues on further deepening and improving multilateral relations, preparing to upcoming session of the Council of the heads of the governments in Astana.

In order to execute the decisions of the Tashkent summit, the ministers submitted a draft decisions on the completion of the procedure for admission of India and Pakistan to the SCO and granting them the status of a member state of the organization for consideration by the Council of the heads of states.

The session approved the report on the work of the SCO Secretariat for 2016 and heard information on the activities of the SCO RATS.

Ministers also took decisions on a number of issues of the organization’s current activities.
