Russian form to take part in construction of refinery in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan ( -- Russia’s Gas Project Development Central Asia (subsidiary of Gazprom International) and Uzbekneftegaz to construct refinery in Uzbekistan.

The sides will create a joint venture to construct refinery. The Uzbek side will own 60% in the JV, and Russian side – 40%.

The refinery will be built in Jizzakh region. The sides are currently working on documentation.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyouev laid the first stone of new oil refinery during his visit to Jizzakh region in April 2017. The cost of the project is US$2.2 billion.

According to preliminary calculations, the complex will annually produce more than 3.7 million tonnes of motor fuel, more than 700,000 tonnes of aviation kerosene and 300,000 tonnes of associated petroleum products.

International norms and standards on industrial and ecologic safety, protection of environment will be used during the construction of the project.
