Islamic Culture Center to be created in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An Islamic Culture Center will be established in Uzbekistan. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution on establishment of the Center in Tashkent on 23 June.
Islamic Culture Center will be created under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan. The new center will be constructed near the Hazrati Imam complex in Tashkent.
The Center will implement measures to promote Uzbekistan as one of the important centers of the Islamic world. The center will study the works of the great ancestors of the Uzbek people and promote them in the world. The Center will also prepare books, television programs and other materials about Islam in Uzbekistan, works of great ancestors, etc.
The project will be financed from the state budget, contributions from members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, donations from individuals and legal entities, grants and other means.
At the same time, Russian businessman Alisher Usmanov will allocate funds for construction of the administrative and main buildings of the center, strengthening their material and technical base.
A library will also be built within the project.
