Uzbek, Hungarian FMs discuss bilateral relations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 27 June 2017, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Péter Szijjártó held negotiations in Tashkent.
Péter Szijjártó arrived in Uzbekistan on 26 June with a two-day official visit.
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Hungary in the political, trade-economic, investment, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
The Ministers noted mutual interest in further building up interstate cooperation, intensifying contacts between representatives of the business community, academia, educational institutions, cultural and art figures.
The foreign ministers of Uzbekistan and Hungary examined promising joint projects in such areas as finance, agriculture and water management, processing of agricultural products, as well as education. In the field of education, Hungary intends to allocate 30 scholarships for Uzbek students a year.
The parties noted that the opening of the Hungarian Embassy in Tashkent will allow to strengthen bilateral relations on a systematic basis, giving them a multidimensional character. The opening ceremony of the Hungarian Embassy in Tashkent will be held on 27 June.
Abdulaziz Kamilov and Peter Siyarto discussed regional and international issues during the meeting.
After the talks, the heads of foreign affairs bodies signed an agreement between the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Human Resources of Hungary on cooperation in the health sector for 2017-2020.
The Ambassador of Hungary Peter Santo attended the events.
