Projects for US$40m to be implemented in Syrdarya branch of FEZ Jizzakh

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed an order “On measures for further development of the Syrdarya branch of the free economic zone Jizzakh”.

The document was adopted to ensure further development of the Syrdarya branch of the free economic zone Jizzakh, increase the efficiency of enterprises, create favorable conditions for increasing the volume of import-substituting and export-oriented products, as well as improve the conditions for cultural leisure and recreation of the population of Syrdarya region.

Uzbek leader approved a list of investment projects, which will be implemented in the territory of the Syrdarya branch of the FEZ Jizzakh for 2017-2019 and a plan of practical measures to accelerate the implementation of investment projects, as well as further improve the efficiency of the Syrdarya branch of the FEZ Jizzakh.

According to the document, seven projects, involving Chinese companies worth US$40 million, will be implemented in the Syrdarya branch of the FEZ Jizzakh. All projects will be implemented with participation of Peng Sheng.

Within the framework of the projects, production of zinc handles for mixers, door locks and hinges, brass and copper fittings, zinc mixers, ready-made leather goods, leather goods and leather footwear will be launched.

The project will be financed at the expense of the participants’ own funds (US$16 million), foreign investment (US$9 million) and loans of commercial banks (US$15 million).
