Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan and President of Iran discuss bilateral relations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in Tehran on 18 October.
Uzbek Foreign Minister conveyed the warm greetings and sincere respect of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the President and the people of Iran, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
During the meeting, Abdulaziz Kamilov and Hassan Rouhani discussed topical issues of further development of bilateral relations in the political, trade-economic, transport-communication, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.
The parties noted that the meeting and talks between Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Hassan Rouhani on 11 September 2017 in Astana allowed to define ways of expanding ties between Uzbekistan and in various fields.
Hassan Rouhani underlined that Iran is ready to supply energy resources to meet the needs of Uzbekistan. He also stressed the importance of holding meetings of the intergovernmental commission for cooperation to develop trade and economic ties.
Abdulaziz Kamilov said that Uzbekistan is interested in developing trade and cultural ties with Iran. He added that the agreements reached in Astana opened a new page in relations between the two countries.
The sides exchanged views on issues of mutual interest in international and regional politics.
