Uzbekenergo and KEPCO sign cooperation agreement

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekenergo (Uzbek Energy) and Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) signed a cooperation agreement on 21 November.
The agreement was signed within the visit of Deputy Chairman of the Board of Uzbekenergo Shukhrat Sheraliev to South Korea. The visit is organized on the eve of the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to South Korea.
Within the agreement, the sides are planning to expand bilateral cooperation in the energy sector.
In particular, the sides are planning to realize a project on application of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Energy Management System (EMS) and the modernization of relevant information technologies at power facilities.
The agreement also envisages study of the current state of power system of Uzbekistan and exchange of experience and specialists in the field of dispatching, as well as working with the international financial institutions - the Asian Development Bank, the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and others - on issues of financing the SCADA / EMS implementation project in the Uzbek energy system.
