Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Within the framework of the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Republic of Korea, the Ministry of Preschool Education of Uzbekistan held about 20 meetings and reached an agreement on exchange of experience, study of possibilities of creating experimental kindergartens in Uzbekistan, as well as research.
During the trip, the delegations of the Ministry of Preschool Education visited and studied pre-school educational institutions of various types, identified the main characteristics of Korean kindergartens, the forms of training, the principles of work, the system of financing and payment, the qualifications and working conditions of teaching staff, catering and logistics, programs and methods have been studied.
The distinctive features of the Korean system of preschool education, which form the basis of its success, include creation of the most favorable conditions for the work of the teacher, pedagogical autonomy, the lack of a large number of reports, the high status of the public garden teacher, the creative atmosphere that creates favorable conditions for children’s self-expression, design of premises and equipment, an abundance of children’s literature, educational materials and games, the instillation of social norms and skills from a small age in personal care products.
Special attention should be paid to the fact that, first and foremost, the state takes care of the most vulnerable groups of the population, low-income families and children with disabilities who have priority in enrolling in kindergartens. The implementation of the principles of inclusive education in Korea deserves special attention.
In order to expand cooperation with Korea’s leading higher education institutions, which train specialists in the field of education, and have their own pre-school educational institutions, a Framework Agreement was concluded with the University of Sangmyung University, Chung-Ang University, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Chonnam National University, within the framework of which cooperation is envisaged in the following areas: the exchange of experience between students, scientific and pedagogical and management personnel, work on the introduction of new programs and training methods for the training, retraining and advanced training of pre-school education personnel, joint research, organization of joint conferences, exhibitions and seminars, the organization of special joint master’s and doctoral programs to train specialists in the direction of preschool education, the organization of experimental kindergartens in the territory of Uzbekistan.
During the visit to the Republic of Korea, the delegation of the Ministry of Preschool Education held meetings with leading research institutes in the field of pre-school education and early development of children.
On 23 November 2017, a Framework Agreement was concluded with the Korean Institute for the Study of Child Care and Preschool Education (KICCE), according to which the Ministry of Preschool Education and KICCE will conduct joint research in the field of pre-school education, exchange experience through joint training programs for teachers, seminars and conferences, as well as develop a strategy for the development of the preschool education system, revise educational standards and programs, organize collection of education statistics.
During the meeting with the Seoul Early Childhood Education Promotion Institute, an agreement was reached on concluding an agreement on further cooperation in the field of joint research, exchange of experience, the creation of joint research institutions with sites for the practical implementation of research results, the development of educational materials.
The meeting of the delegation of Uzbekistan with the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea was fruitful. The Uzbek side received information on development of preschool education and childcare in Korea, principles of development strategy, cost of teaching of children, etc.
