Exhibition “Russia and Uzbekistan: 25 years of strategic partnership” opens in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An opening ceremony of the historical and documentary exhibition “Russia and Uzbekistan: 25 years of strategic partnership” was held in Tashkent on 30 November 2017.
The exposition includes unique archival documents and photographs, which were not previously exhibited.
The exhibition, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, was prepared by the Federal Archival Agency, the Russian State Archive of Economics jointly with the agency Uzarhiv under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Central State Archive of Cinema and Photo Documents of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Greeting messages addressed to the guests of the event were sent by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The exposition is divided into several sections: the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkt Mirziyoyev to the Russian Federation on April 4-5, 2017, political dialogue, economic cooperation, military-technical cooperation, partnership in the cultural and humanitarian fields, milestones of a common history: the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945, the restoration of Tashkent after the earthquake in 1966 and modern Uzbekistan.
Particular attention is given to determining the role of the leaders of Russia and Uzbekistan in the development of interstate interaction.
Pages of the general history and achievements of Uzbek-Russian cooperation at the present stage, reflected in the exhibition “Uzbekistan and Russia: 25 years of strategic partnership”, is a convincing testimony to the time-tested relations between the two states.
