Bukhara-Misken railroad commissioned in Uzbekistan
The company recalled that the construction of new railway line from Bukhara to Misken with the length of 355 kilometers, began in December 2016.
Construction and installation works started simultaneously from two sides of the railroad. Two segments of the railway lines were docked on the day of the 26th anniversary of the independence of the country – 1 September 2017. Electrification works were completed exactly three months later.
With the launch of the new railway, the distance between Tashkent and Urgench was reduced by 75 km. Until today, trains from the capital to the administrative center of Khorezm region went by bypass, along the Navoi-Uchkuduk-Miskin line.
According to the adopted technology for operation of the new line, only freight trains will first run on new railroad. The new railway line will contribute to further development and efficient use of the natural resources of the territory.
The passenger transportation will begin later, after the completion of the break-in of infrastructure of the new railway.
In the future the high-speed train Afrosiyob will run on new railroad, which will create favorable conditions for the new tourist route, optimize the existing tourist tours that unite Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva into a single transport direction.
