Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An opening ceremony of a pilot legal center for providing free legal advice to the population under the citizen gathering of Yakkabog makhalla was held in Tashkent, the press service of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Uzbekistan said.
The Legal Center was opened within the framework of the project “Enhancement of the legal culture in the society by improving the openness of the activities of prosecutors and increasing public access to information”, which was implemented by the Prosecutor General’s Office and the OSCE Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan.
The main objectives of the newly created legal center are to assist citizens, especially vulnerable people, in obtaining free legal assistance, raising the legal awareness of citizens about their rights, bringing the newly adopted laws to the public, as well as clarifying the provisions of existing regulations and the practice of their application, the provision of legal assistance to the mahalla gathering of citizens in solving practical problems.
The center will provide free legal assistance to residents of the makhalla gathering of citizens who have civil-law issues, problems in family, labor and other legal relationships.
Legal assistance will be provided by legal advisers who, along with legal advice, will assist in drafting legal documents for the residents.
