President of Uzbekistan wants to improve relations with Tajikistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit Tajikistan to “melt 20-year-old ice” in relations between two countries. This was stated by the President during the session of the People’s Deputy of the People’s Deputies of Tashkent region on 5 January.

Uzbek leader noted that the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov will visit Tajikistan to prepare an official visit of the Uzbek President to the neighboring country.

It should be noted that Abdulla Aripov will pay a working visit to Tajikistan from 10 to 11 January 2018.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that as a result of the visit, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan will sign major agreements - a railway will be opened, electricity will be supplied.

“We must get along with all our neighbors. It’s not easy, but we have to melt the 20-year-old ice,” the President said.
