Uzbekistan to take measures to stabilize prices for goods and services

Tashkent, Uzbekistan ( -- Uzbekistan will take measures to stabilize prices for consumer goods and services in 2018. This is stated in the draft state program of 2018 "Year of active entrepreneurship, innovative ideas and technologies".

According to the draft program, the Government of Uzbekistan intends to allocate US$100 million and 385 billion soums to prevent price growth in the domestic market.

The funds will be used to implementation of various projects to prevent price increases. In particular, Uzbekistan plans to ensure uninterrupted supply of basic food products and other consumer goods to the domestic market, as well as to prevent the artificial shortage of goods.

Measures will be taken to eliminate the monopoly on import of a number of food products.
