Proposals to establish low cost airline of Uzbekistan Airways to be prepared

Tashkent, Uzbekistan ( -- Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev ordered to make proposals on the creation of a low-cost airline under Uzbekistan Havo Yollari (Uzbekistan Airways) to the Government by 1 May 2018.

This is stipulated by the Presidential Decree "On Measures to Ensure the Security of Citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan during their Departure on Transport from the Republic for Temporary Work".

The President instructed to submit proposals on the creation of a low-budget airline under the Uzbekistan Airways, which carries out air transportation at reduced tariffs, to the Cabinet of Ministers.

Earlier, Umid Khusanov, the deputy chairman of Uzbekistan Airways, said: "We are now studying international experience and developing a certification program for a low-cost operator." In particular, the airline is studying the experience of the Russian Aeroflot and its subsidiary Pobeda (Victory).

The representative of the airline noted that the main directions of the low cost aitline will be Russia, Turkey and Egypt.
