IUT and Google discuss training of IT specialists

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Inha University in Tashkent (IUT) and Google discussed issues of establishing cooperation in the field of training IT specialists through joint training programs and supporting startups.

IUT Rector Sarvar Babakhdjaev held negotiations with Baris Yesugey, Developer Ecosystem Lead for in Turkey, Caucasus and Central Asia at Google.

Baris Yesugey paid visit to Inha University in Tashkent on 11 March 2018 and took part in the event Women Techmakers 2018 International Women’s Day Celebration (IWD). Women Techmakers is Google’s brand and global program for women in technology. We provide visibility, community, and resources for women in technology to drive innovation and participation in the field. The activities of Women Techmakers are designed to promote creation of conditions for participation of women in the field of high technology.

Representative of Google got acquainted with conditions and capabilities, created for students and faculty members in one of the youngest universities of Uzbekistan.

In his turn, Baris Yesugey talked about his plans to expand cooperation with developers from Uzbekistan. He noted that his team provides various assistance to developers from the region, including information and technical support. The main work in this direction is carried out through the so-called Google Developer Groups (GDG).

It should be mentioned that students of IUT established GDG Tashkent group. It is expected that this group will carry out a number of activities to promote IT education and Google solutions in Uzbekistan. Baris Yesugey said that he and his team will support the activities of GDG Tashkent.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of training specialists in the field of information technology and involving girls in the IT sector, as well as supporting startups from Uzbekistan through organization of various events, including Google I/O, Women Techmakers, DevFest, Google Launchpad Accelerator, etc.

The sides agreed to continue discussions on possible areas of cooperation in the matter of course.

Baris Yesugey also familiarized himself with the campus of IUT.
