A delegation of Uztuqimachiliksanoat Association pays visit to Iran

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uztuqimachiliksanoat (Uzbekistan Textile Industry) Association took part in the 12th meeting of Uzbekistan – Iran intergovernmental commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation, in Tehran.

During the intergovernmental commission, current issues of development of interstate cooperation were discussed, the press service of Uztuqimachiliksanoat Association said.

The delegation of Uztuqimachiliksanoat Association and representatives of domestic enterprises of textile and apparel-knitting industry also took part in the business forum, held in Tehran.

Within the framework of the event, the delegation of Uztuqimachiliksanoat Association held negotiations with such Iranian companies as “Taaha Trading”, “Eximpol”, “Baharan”, “Eleman”. Relevance of implementing projects in trade and economic sphere, increasing exports and imports was noted.

As reported by the Association, during the talks, a contract was signed for exporting cotton yarn worth US$1 million between “Uztextile Export” FTC under Uztuqimachiliksanoat Association and the Iranian company “Taaha Alyaf”.

Preliminary agreements were also reached by “Falakdan Najod” LLC (Tashkent region) on exporting ready sewing and knitted products to Iran.

Agreements were reached with “Arsh Carpet” company of “Baharan” group of companies on development of a business plan for establishment of production of carpets in Uzbekistan. Representatives of the Iranian company will arrive in Uzbekistan in May this year, for detailed discussion of the project with involved ministries and departments.

Trade relations between Iran and Uzbekistan are developing quite dynamically. The trade turnover between the two countries is planned to be increased from US$250 million to US$1 billion. According to the results of the last two years, the export of textile products (yarn c/b, fabrics c/b) to the Iranian market amounted to US$26 million.
