Conference on e-commerce to be held in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tashkent will host the largest event in the financial sector E-Commerce Day 2018 on 6-7 November. For representatives of the financial and, especially, the banking sector of Uzbekistan, this is an absolutely unique opportunity to support the global trend of introducing innovative solutions and also to find the right ways for Uzbekistan to apply international experience in the successful development and construction of the country's financial infrastructure.
This year, Mastercard is the General Sponsor of the first e-commerce conference of Uzbekistan E-Commerce Day 2018.
“We see prospects for development of non-cash payments in Uzbekistan and are ready to cooperate with all partners aimed at introducing innovations and popularizing non-cash payments,” the company said in a press release.
The Central Asian market is promising and has great potential for development of financial and banking services for both the public and companies. The countries of this region have the opportunity for rapid development and economic growth. With the advent of modern payment technologies in the market, the countries of Central Asia have every chance of becoming major financial centers over time.
“In Uzbekistan, we see great potential in terms of the development of tourism and attracting foreign visitors to the country. In this context, non-cash payments with cards of international payment systems are especially important as a driver of additional revenues to the economy through an increase in the number of financial transactions. And the ability to pay online when booking tours, hotels and tickets will enhance the country's awareness in the world,” Mastercard said.
“To create a future without cash in Uzbekistan, Mastercard is open to working with all market participants. First of all, with banks - in fact, banks are the main initial “entry point” for cardholders,” the press release stressed.
Mastercard noted that the company will continue to develop its portfolio of financial products and solutions, introduce new payment technologies, and launch educational projects to improve the financial literacy of the population of Uzbekistan.
“We are confident that new technologies and innovations that appear due to Mastercard will be able to drastically change the idea of non-cash payments in the world,” Mastercard underlined.
