President of Uzbekistan pardons 136 citizens
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree “On clemency of a group of persons serving a sentence of imprisonment, sincerely repenting their deed and firmly on the path of correction” on 7 December.
The decree was adopted in connection with the 26th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of Uzbekistan. The head of Uzbekistan, in line with the decree, pardoned 136 citizens.
In particular, the President completely freed 30 persons from punishment. At the same time, 26 persons are released on parole from punishment.
According to the decree, the sentences imposed on 42 persons were replaced by milder ones. Shavkat Mirziyoyev reduced the punishments of 38 persons.
