Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A list of exchange programs of the US Embassy in Uzbekistan has been expanded with another program - TechGirls. On December 1, the mission began accepting applications for participation in this program.
TechGirls is an international summer exchange program, which is directed at empowering young girls from Central Asia, the Middle East and North Africa and inspiring them to look for their vocation in the field of science and technology. Students of secondary schools, lyceums and colleges aged from 15 to 17 years who are interested in disciplines in the field of STEM - science, technology, engineering and mathematics can participate in the program.
TechGirls finalists will spend four weeks in the United States, participating in an interactive technology and computer camp. This will allow participants to explore in depth topics related to information technology, such as programming and cybersecurity, as well as provide an opportunity to pass the 45-hour practical training.
Upon completion of the program and returning to their countries, TechGirls participants are implementing at least one project, in which they will share the skills and experience gained in the US with their peers.
The deadline for submitting applications for participation in the program is February 1, 2019. You can learn more about the program and the selection process at this link.
