Uzbekistan signs framework agreement with Eximbank of India

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 18 January, Uzbekistan country seminar was held in the Indian city of Gandhinagar at the Dynamic Gujarat 2019 international summit, which was attended by Shamil Burnashev, deputy chairman of the State Investment Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Country seminars are an obligatory part of the summit program for partner participants, where representatives of country delegations have the opportunity to inform representatives of government and business circles of India about the conditions and features of foreign economic activity, legal aspects and taxation, investment and export potential.
Adham Ikramov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan with the participation of Sahib Saifnazarov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry, Ulugbek Kasimkhojaev, Acting First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development, Timur Mukhamedjanov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Uzstroymaterialy, and Ilkhom Haydarov, Chairman of the Uztextileprom Association, moderated the Uzbekistan Country Workshop.
During the event, thematic presentations took place demonstrating the potential for cooperation in industry areas.
In his speech, Shamil Burnashev emphasized that the intensification of relations between Uzbekistan and India is a strategic task for both countries in the coming years. And 2018 can be considered one of the starting points in a qualitatively new level of bilateral cooperation, as evidenced by the growing number of Indian companies in Uzbekistan. As of 1 January 2019, 170 companies with Indian capital are operating.
Further on, a session of questions and answers was held on the program of the seminar. The greatest interest from the Indian business audience was noted in the areas of health care, pharmaceuticals, production of textiles and modern building materials.
Within the framework of the international Summit “Dynamic Gujarat -2019”, the ceremony of signing a framework agreement with the Eximbank of India worth US$200 million took place.
