Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to preliminary data, Uzbek enterprises produced industrial goods worth 228.9 trillion soums in January-December 2018, which is 14.4% more than in 2017, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
The main factor behind the growth in total industrial production was an increase in production in the mining industry and quarrying by 25.4%, manufacturing - by 13.2%, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning - by 4.1%, water supply, sewerage , waste collection and disposal - by 22.6%.
The volume of production manufactured by the mining industry and quarrying in January-December 2018 made up 36.9 trillion soums, or 16.1% of the total industry.
Compared to the same period of last year, there is a 1.2-fold increase in the production of crushed stone, coal - by 3.4%, gas condensate - by 9.9%, and natural gas - by 6.1%. At the same time, there was a decrease in oil production by 8.2% and gravel - by 12.3%.
Manufacturing enterprises in January-December 2018 produced goods for 175.4 trillion soums, the growth rate compared to the corresponding period of last year reached 13.2%.
Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the share of high-tech industries in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 1.6% (1.9% in January-December 2017), medium-high-tech - 29.7% (21.7%), medium-low-tech - 29.8% (27.0%) and low-tech - 38.9% (49.4%).
Manufacturing enterprises in January-December 2018 produced goods for 175.4 trillion soums, which is 13.2% higher than in 2017.
Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the share of high-tech industries in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 1.6% (1.9% in January-December 2017), medium-high-tech - 29.7% (21.7%), medium-low-tech - 29.8% (27.0%) and low-tech - 38.9% (49.4%).
The volume of production by enterprises of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning amounted to 14.5 trillion soums (6.4% of the total industry).
In the industry in January-December 2018, compared with the corresponding period of last year, the production, transmission and distribution of electricity, steam supply and air conditioning systems increased by 4.1%, and the production and distribution of gaseous fuel - by 4.1%.
The volume of products, produced by water supply, sewerage, waste collection and disposal enterprises amounted to 2.1 trillion soums (0.9% of the total industry).
Compared with the corresponding period of last year, there is an increase in recycled materials containing ferrous metals by 25.6%, recycled materials containing aluminum - by 1.9 times, services for the treatment and distribution of water through water supply systems - by 24.9%, services for removal, transportation of wastewater and their treatment - by 27.7%.
As a result of measures taken to expand the range and stimulate the production of finished products, consumer goods production reached 84.3 trillion soums and, compared with January - December 2017, increased by 15.9%, the share in the total industry made up 36.8%.
Compared to the same period of 2017, in the structure of consumer goods in January-December 2018, there was an increase in the share of non-food goods production from 58.2% to 68.8%.
In the structure of the production of food products, the production of wine-vodka products and beer was 7.7% (6.6% in January-December 2017).
During the reporting period, enterprises with foreign investment produced products to 94.0 trillion soums, which is 35.8% more than in 2017.
If in the previous year the share of joint ventures in the total production was equal to 35.1%, in the reporting period it increased and reached 41.1%.
The contribution to increase in industrial production of the republic of joint ventures in January-December of 2018 made up 12.3%, ensuring the acceleration of the pace of reform and liberalization of the economy, as well as an increase in the competitiveness of products on the world market.
In the total volume of joint venture products, the share of mining and quarrying enterprises was 21.8%, manufacturing industry - 78.1%.
In the structure of industrial output of the republic, the largest share falls on the city of Tashkent (18.6% of the republican industry), Tashkent (15.3%), Andijan (11.8%), Navoi (9.9%), Kashkadarya (6.2%) and Ferghana (5.6%) regions.
At the same time, it should be noted that the largest share of consumer goods was produced in Andijan region (25.3% of the total consumer goods), Tashkent city (23.6%), Samarkand (8.7%) and Tashkent (8.7% ) regions.
The consistent implementation of measures to increase the industrial potential of the regions contributed to a significant increase in production in Andijan (+ 55.8%), Khorezm (+ 17.3%), Surkhandarya (+ 15.7%), Tashkent (+ 15.6%) and Namangan (+ 11.9%) regions.
At the same time, there was a significant increase in production of consumer goods in Andijan (+ 64.8%), Khorezm (+ 27.3%), Syrdarya (+ 11.2%) regions and the city of Tashkent (+ 11.8%).
Analysis of the differentiation of industrial output per capita showed an excess of the average Republican indicator (6.944 million soums) in Navoi region (23.34 million soums), Tashkent city (17.12 million soums), Tashkent (12.16 million soums) and Andijan (8.86 million soums) regions.
In the reporting period, production of consumer goods per capita in the republic amounted to 2.55 million soums, including in Tashkent city – 8.01 million soums, Andijan region – 7.01 million soums, Navoi region – 2.69 million soums, Tashkent region – 2.54 million soums.
The dynamic development of the industrial activity of small businesses ensured the growth of industrial production by the corresponding period of last year by 10.2%, while the share of small business in industry was 34.7%.
In terms of regions, the largest share of small business was observed in Tashkent city (72.9% of the total industry of the region), Namangan (68.5%), Jizzakh (64.4%), Syrdarya (52.1%), Samarkand (51.1%), Surkhandarya (47.1%) and Bukhara (41.1%) regions.
At the same time, the smallest share of small business was noted in Navoi region (16.1%) in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (18.7%), Andijan (19.8%) and Kashkadarya (21.4%) regions.
The development of industrial production in the republic was also facilitated by implementation of the Program for localizing the production of finished products, components and materials, within which 714 projects were produced for 15 trillion soums, exported localized products for US$457.8 million.
Compared to the same period of last year, in January-December 2018, the volume of localized products increased by 1.5 times. At the same time, compared with January-December 2017, there is a decrease in exports by 11.9.
