A Milk and Dairy Products Plant Opens in the Kokand Free Economic Zone

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In the second half of August, a new milk and dairy products plant operated by the family business Sadaf Sut began operations in the Kokand Free Economic Zone.

Known for its high-quality products, which are in demand not only in the Fergana region but across the country, the enterprise continues to expand its capacity and introduce new lines using modern technologies.

The second plant of the Sadaf Sut project, focused on cheese and other dairy products, was commissioned with a total investment of US$2.7 million. Its opening created an additional 100 jobs.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the hokim of Fergana region, Khairullo Bozorov, who congratulated the participants on the country’s Independence Day and noted that the new plant represents a worthy contribution by entrepreneurs to the nation’s anniversary.

According to the regional leader, large-scale reforms and support for entrepreneurship contribute to the steady strengthening of the economy each year. The Kokand Free Economic Zone is witnessing active growth in production capacities and the implementation of promising projects. “Foreign investments and loans are important, but we also focus on using local resources and supporting domestic entrepreneurs,” the hokim emphasized. He added that the creation of large manufacturing enterprises in the regions provides high-income jobs and ensures sustainable economic development.

Special attention was given to the initiative of entrepreneur Saidqosim Qoraboev, who implements new projects thanks to family support and his own experience. Today, the enterprise produces 38 types of products and employs 350 people, with plans to expand the workforce to 600 in the near future.

During 2024–2025, construction work was carried out at the plant, and modern equipment was installed, sourced from Türkiye, Russia, and China. The enterprise’s key goals include increasing annual production capacity to 3,650 tons and exporting 10% of its products.

At the ceremony, which included respected elders, a symbolic ribbon was cut, and guests were given a tour of the production process and the finished products of the new plant.
