A New Cross-Border Tourist Ring Route “Turkmenistan – Khorezm – Karakalpakstan – Kazakhstan” Has Been Created

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A new cross-border tourist ring route connecting Turkmenistan, Khorezm, Karakalpakstan, and Kazakhstan has been developed.

The route was established in the framework of implementing Presidential Decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. UP-87, “On Measures to Enhance the Role and Importance of Tourism in the Economy through a Radical Increase in Tourist Flows and Rapid Expansion of Tourist Services in 2025–2026.” The decree calls for the creation of joint routes linking the countries of the region and promoting cultural and tourist exchange.

This new route unites four regions and offers travelers a rich cultural and educational experience. Its development was carried out by the Tourism Committee in collaboration with specialized organizations and private sector representatives. The designers focused not only on travel convenience but also on the substantive content of the journey.

Tourists will be offered a variety of experiences, including gastronomic tourism with tastings of national dishes, ecological tourism amid unique natural landscapes, ethnographic tourism with immersion in regional traditions and crafts, and pilgrimage tourism with visits to sacred sites and historical and spiritual monuments.

The route includes more than 15 UNESCO World Heritage sites as well as monuments of national and regional significance. Among them: in Turkmenistan – the ancient city of Merv, the Darvaza gas crater, and Kunya-Urgench; in Khorezm – Ichan-Kala and Dishan-Kala; in Karakalpakstan – the I.V. Savitsky State Museum, Kyzyl-Kala, Chilpyk-Kala, the pilgrimage site of Sultan Uvais Bobo, Toprak-Kala, and Ayaz-Kala; and in Kazakhstan – the Torysh Valley, Bozzhira Valley, the Shakpak-Ata Mausoleum, and Sherkala Mountain.

This tourist route opens new opportunities to explore the rich cultural, historical, and natural heritage of Central Asia and promises to be an attractive destination for both individual travelers and organized tour groups.
