Alshaya Group Plans to Enter Uzbekistan Market with Global Brands
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 13 June, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, held talks with the Chairman of Alshaya Group, Mohammed Alshaya.
Founded in 1890, Alshaya Group operates over 4,000 retail outlets worldwide, representing leading global brands. The company reports annual revenues exceeding US$11 billion and employs more than 50,000 people.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the company’s potential entry into the Uzbek market through the launch of retail outlets featuring internationally recognized brands. Alshaya Group’s leadership highlighted Uzbekistan’s increasing appeal as a strategic market in Central Asia, citing the country’s strong consumer sector growth, favorable investment climate, and high demographic potential.
The company expressed its commitment to implementing long-term projects in Uzbekistan and unveiled plans to open its first stores in the near future.
As a result of the talks, both sides agreed on concrete steps to facilitate the successful introduction of Alshaya Group’s brand portfolio into the Uzbek market.
