Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An 8-kilometer section of the metro line with three stations is planned to be constructed in New Tashkent by the end of 2026, according to the project developer, the Directorate for the Construction of “New Tashkent.”
This section will form part of the line connecting the “Dustlik” station to New Tashkent. Initially, the plan included four stations, but at this stage, the project provides for three.
The construction cost is estimated at US$110 million. In 2025, US$11 million is planned to be allocated, with the remaining US$99 million to be spent in 2026. The investor is the Turkish company XVAV YAPI SANAYI VE TIC. A.S., operating in the construction, industry, and trade sectors.
Transport Minister Ilkhom Makhkamov previously stated that the proposal to build a metro line between the capital and New Tashkent came from the President as part of the development of the new city’s transport infrastructure.
In June, it was specified that the full line from Dustlik to New Tashkent will span 21 kilometers and include nine stations. It is projected to carry up to 230,000 passengers per day.
