Andijan Region Attracts US$3.1 Billion in Investments and Creates 305,000 Jobs

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev was presented with a report on the results of reforms and new plans for the socio-economic development of Andijan Region.

In line with the Presidential Decree of 18 November 2024, the region is implementing a comprehensive set of measures aimed at improving the investment climate, supporting entrepreneurship, and raising the living standards of the population. This year, the plan envisages attracting US$3.1 billion in investments, achieving US$1.5 billion in exports, creating 305,000 new jobs, and lifting more than 32,000 families out of poverty.

Since the beginning of 2025, new production facilities worth US$1 billion have been commissioned in Andijan Region, along with the opening of 344 trade and service complexes. In addition, projects worth US$2.5 billion have been launched. In the first half of the year alone, the region attracted US$850 million in investments and recorded US$465 million in exports.

The President’s April visit to Andijan gave fresh momentum to the region’s development. Following the visit, a reform task force comprising experts and entrepreneurs was established to prepare new initiatives for economic and social progress.

Among upcoming projects is the opening of an innovative clinic utilizing robotic technologies from Germany, Turkey, and Japan, with an investment volume of US$40 million. Negotiations are also underway to attract €20 million from Italy to establish an agro-cluster and €25 million from Germany to build a modern agro-logistics complex. More than 30 initiatives have been designed to develop tourism infrastructure in Khanabad, Khodjaabad, and Bulakbashi districts.

Overall, a portfolio of additional projects worth US$1.1 billion has been formed. Their implementation will create 22,000 new jobs and increase annual exports by US$200 million.

The President emphasized the importance of a tailored approach to the development of each city and district, stressing the need to locate new projects in areas with low investment activity.

He also instructed that professional training and employment programs be organized for the unemployed and families in need, and that mahallas be turned into crime-free zones.
