Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Ferghana Region Hokim Khayrullo Bozorov held a meeting with representatives of China’s Inspur Smart Industry Group Co., Ltd to discuss promising projects in water resource conservation and the digitalization of the region’s water supply systems.

Company representatives noted that the 4G-enabled smart water meter allows for remote water supply management and automatically suspends service in case of overdue payments. In addition, water consumption data will be displayed in the supply system in real time, ensuring transparent accounting.

The Hokim emphasized the importance of the project, stressing that amid water shortages, it is time to transition to automated management systems and strengthen quality and reliability control over equipment. The initiative will serve as a “Ferghana pilot project” for the production of smart water meters, with a focus on localization of manufacturing.

The parties also discussed the possibility of placing the project in an industrial technopark and providing investors with information on existing incentives and advantages of the region.

Following the meeting, the sides agreed to accelerate the project’s implementation and begin executing the agreements reached.
