Ferghana Region: Smuggling of Jewelry Worth 5.7 Billion Soums Prevented
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Officers from the State Security Service in Ferghana Region, together with customs authorities, intercepted a smuggled consignment of jewelry from Kyrgyzstan valued at 5.7 billion soums.
During the operation, 5 kilograms and 706 grams of gold items illegally transported across the state border were seized.
Individuals involved in the smuggling have been detained, and investigative measures are currently underway to initiate a criminal case.
