Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 23 May, the opening ceremony of the international extreme motorsport tournament “Rally Muynak” took place in the city of Muynak. This unique sporting event, held annually, continues to attract attention from tourists and participants across Uzbekistan and abroad.

The tournament will run through 25 May across the Ustyurt Plateau and the dried seabed of the Aral Sea in the Muynak district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. Over the course of three days, spectators will enjoy thrilling off-road races featuring rally cars, buggies, and motorcycles, as well as a vibrant cultural and entertainment program — including gourmet shows led by top chefs and evening concert performances.

Now in its sixth edition, “Rally Muynak” has become a landmark event in the development of motorsports in the region. This year’s competition features athletes from various countries and regions of Uzbekistan. The races are held using specialized vehicles: rally cars with 1600 and 2000 cc engines, buggies with up to 2000 cc, and motorcycles ranging from 125 to 500 cc.

Organizers emphasize that the tournament aims not only to promote extreme sports but also to showcase the tourism potential of the Aral Sea region, contributing to the sustainable development of this unique area.
